Leica SL

The Leica SL camera is a 24 megapixel, full frame, mirrorless camera body which will take the Leica zoom 24-90mm Vario Elmar lens to give outstanding versitility and staggering optical quality. The SL body is compact and lightweight, made from milled aluminium and in addition to the 24-90mm, will take the 90-280mm and 50mm SL summilux lens, to offer a comprehensive set up for all occasions. The revolutionary 4.4 million, electronic, Leica EyeRes viewfinder gives amazing clarity and will switch on in an instant when the eye is put near to the viewfinder. The rear LCD viewing panel is 2.95" and a viewing angle of up to 170 degrees and the high performance maestro II processor gaurantees that photographer will not miss a thing.

Combined with the 2GB buffer memory, the camera can catch stills at upto 11 frames per second at the full 24mp resolution and 4K video at 30 frames per second, which is an impressive image capture rate for such a camera. It will even capture Cine4K quality video at 24 frames per second. In full HD, the Leica SL records at 120 frames per second and makes use of the entire sensor area and when video mode is selected, the camera display will only show information relevant to video shooting and not stills. External microphones can be added, if desired, but the internal microphone recording level can be conveniently set without accessing the menu.

35mm full frame format picture quality adds to the SL's pedigree and with a comprehensive shutter speed of 30 minutes to 1/8000 sec, no potential photo can get through the net. The camera has been optimised for use with the superb Leica M range of cameras (adapter required) and can also take the R, S and T lenses, using the relevant Leica adpater (sold seprately). The robust body is precision engineered and has an intergrated ultra-sonic sensor cleaning function to remove dust and dirt from the sensor when needed. The back panel glass, is scratch resistant and has an anti-reflective coating to enhance viewing.
