Framing the Rut: A Wildlife Photography Experience with Tesni Ward

Join acclaimed wildlife photographer and OM System ambassador, Tesni Ward for an immersive workshop on capturing the drama and beauty of deer rutting season. In this hands-on experience, you’ll learn essential techniques for photographing stags and hinds during their intense mating rituals. From composition and lighting to anticipating behavior, Tesni will share her expertise, ensuring you leave with stunning images that tell the story of this captivating natural phenomenon.
Bradgate Park boasts a healthy population of both Red and Fallow deer, giving us a unique opportunity to photograph the deer rut against a variety of backgrounds, both manmade and natural. Bradgate house itself acts as a fantastic backdrop, with the deer contrasting fabulously against the bricks. We also have extensive open land and rocky outcrops for a more natural setting. The workshop dates are timed to coincide with the highest chance of activity and behaviour and each trip starts before dawn, giving us a variety of light conditions to work in.
OM System
Each participant will be given a OM System OM-1II and a selection of lenses to use during the workshop. You will also be supplied with a memory card to take away your images. This workshop is sponsored by OM System and an ideal introduction to their flagship equipment.

We welcome Canon and Wild Arena for a special In-Store event. Canon will be showcasing their latest equipment with Wild Arena providing Macro set ups.
Join David Southard from Wild Arena for a fun and informative session of close-up shooting using the very latest Canon equipment. David will have an interactive shooting set with some awesome little critters to inspire your imagination and will be on hand to demonstrate macro ideas and techniques, including in-camera focus stacking and lighting.

About David and Wild Arena
David has worked in the photographic industry for over 40 years and has always been involved in taking pictures. After studying photography at college, he started taking image making seriously in 1986, when working as an assistant cameraman for a specialist wildlife filmmaker. During this time, he concentrated on technical macro work including time lapse and studio lighting. He co-founded the Wild Arena business in 2003, and they have delivered the high quality training, events and workshops for over 20 years. David has shot with Canon cameras for many decades, and now uses a range of R series bodies and lenses.
