Using a spotting scope for bird watching, is a fantastic way of picking up every detail and colour that the bird has to offer, either from the comfort of a bird hide or out in the countryside, where you can sit hidden from view but with a perfect insight into the wildlife around you. A spotting telescope gives excellent magnification including zoom facilities as well as bright, clear optics. A bird watching telescope will zoom upto around 60x magnification without loosing detail due to the objective lens (the bit at the other end from the eyepice), which is wide enough to allow lots of light onto the pupil. Furthermore, if you want to take stunning photos of the birds you see, then simply use an adapter to attach a camera to the scope and get clicking. Scopes don't need to be very expensive and bird spotting is such a lovely hobby, a birding scope is a great way to take it to the next level and make the most of the time spent watching. Take it out onto the moors for an afternoon of nature viewing, or just leave it standing in your front room and observe what's going on outside your house, a compact spotting scope can give hours of pleasure.
