Kodak Portra 400 is a versatile film suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Generally 400 ISO film can be a little grainy as it is sensitive to light and generally used in a lower light situation, but Kodak have spent years designing this professional film, to be light sensitive but with an ultra fine grain, which is perfect for photographers who need fantastic colour saturation and really fine detail. Similar to noise on a digital image, unwanted grain is a distraction on an image, as it tends to make the block colours look dirty and doesn't allow all the detail on the photograph to come through. Portra 400 film is superb for portrait photography as it has been designed for skin tones but will also work well with high speed photography and situations where the light cannot be controlled.
