Part of SIGMA’s Contemporary Line is the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 L-Mount Lens C DC DN, specifically built for mirrorless cameras and offers photographers a light, bright and powerful standard zoom. Featuring a zoom range of 18-50mm (27-75mm camera equivalent) and bright F2.8 aperture that is great for capturing a wide variety of photographic applications, including portraits, landscapes, street photography, architecture, events and even macro-style photography – the opportunities are endless. The combination of the exceptional optical design, high-speed Auto Focus and overall durability of the lens work together to deliver incredible high-impact results.  

High-speed Auto Focus  The integrated stepping motor drives a smooth, quiet and high-speed Auto Focus which is beneficial for capturing fluent videos and spontaneous shots. The inner focus system ensures ultimate stability by only using the moveable internal lens elements that adjust focus so the length of the lens barrel doesn’t change.

Sharpness Across the Frame   The optical construction of the SIGMA 18-50mm lens consists of 13 elements in 10 groups, including three glass-moulded aspherical elements and one SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element. The strategic arrangement of the lenses ensures high-performance to overall prevent optical aberrations and deliver consistent sharpness throughout the zoom range.

Preventing Ghosting and Flare  SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer Coating has been incorporated to minimise ghosting and flare when working with strong light sources such as back lighting. This ensures photographers can consistently produce sharp, high-contrast images across the frame. The lens includes a petal-type lens hood to block unwanted light.

Macro-style Shooting and Exceptional Low Light Capabilities  With a minimum focusing distance of just 12.1cm and maximum magnification of 1:2:8 (at the wide end), users can use this lens for macro-style close-up photography. The bright F2.8 aperture makes low light shooting easier and gives the photographer control over depth of field. Combined with the 7-blade rounded diaphragm, a beautifully smooth bokeh can be achieved – directing viewers to the stunning details of the in-focus subject.

Excellent Durability As part of SIGMA’s Contemporary line this lens is compact, portable and durable, weighing less than 300g. The lens itself is constructed using carefully selected materials, including TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) for the barrel which ensures performances remains stable when the lens is used in changing temperatures. As well as rubber sealing around the brass bayonet mount to protect the internal system from gathering dust and water.
