Impressive Optical Performance Olympus has incorporated an ultra-high precision aberration measurement instrument to ensure beautiful feathered bokeh. The optical design directs light beams passing on the outside edges to form an image in the foreground. As spherical aberrations move towards the outside edge, the lens gradually tilts in order to keep the aberrations in frame to create that desired smooth bokeh effect.

Close-focusing Distance of 50cm With an excellent minimum focus distance of 50cm and shooting magnification of 0.2x. You can emphasise more detail in your portrait shots whilst creating that smooth background bokeh.

Excellent Optical Design Olympus have constructed the optical design of the 45mm with 3 cemented ED lenses to correct unfocused colour bleed as well as colour bleeding at the screen periphery – common problems with large diameter lenses. As well as an aspherical lens placed near the aperture and 4 HR lenses to reduce aberration. The placement of the lenses ensures that you can achieve a feathered bokeh and clever depiction of point even at the widest aperture setting.

Fast, Precise Autofocus and Eye Priority AF Olympus have incorporated a MSC mechanism and stepping motor to drive fast, precise and near silent AF – highest speed of 0.2 seconds. They have also ensured that On-chip Phase Detection AF has no light flux limitations which makes high-precision focusing with all-cross AF possible. When using Eye Priority AF on the OM-D-E-M1 Mark II, you can capture portraits that are focused on the subject's eyes for clearer focus around the face.
