Description
The Danubia Motor Drive For the EQ-1 Mount is fantastic for tracking the stars automatically when used with an equatorial mount. It helps to make star-gazing much easier and more relaxing, as it will move the telescope automatically on its equatorial mount at the press of a button. The unit has been designed to compensate for the earth's rotation rate, so that stars appear stationery in the eyepiece. For the unit to work correctly, the telescope must be polar aligned correctly and altitude set to local latitued. The tracking rate of the Danubia Motor Drive For the EQ-1 Mount can be fine tuned during use and it has a north and south switch, so it can be used in both hemispheres. The unit uses a 9v battery, which can be switched on and off, to conserve battery power.
