A Brief History
Billingham is an extremely interesting company, as it proudly boasts that the bags are conceived, designed and Made in Great Britain, which is unusual in this day and age, with so much being imported from the far east. Derived from an idea Mr Billingham had when he saw New York Photographers using his bags to carry their equipment, he soon re-designed the fishing bags to have padded inserts and easy access top flaps. Still a family run business, Billingham takes pride in producing bags of excellence, with exacting standards and attention to detail, after all their name is on the bag. Billingham don't stand still, having developed a bag with the Fibrenyte range of materials, which have proved very popular. Each Billingham bag has been well thought out, with features like cotton, thread stitching which swells when damp, to prevent ingress of water, solid brass studs on which to hook the leather straps and triple layer protection top and bottom. No wonder they can last a lifetime.
Billingham Bags and Harrison Cameras
As a family company, we can whole-heartedly agree with Billingham's philosophy of do the absolute best you can. The Hadley range of bags has proved itself to be sturdy, strong and reliable and ideal for carrying all sorts of camera equipment and the new range of tablet cases, show that Billingham can keep up with the times and find new markets into which they can place their products. We have dealt with Billingham for over 30 years and have always liked the design of the bags. The accessories that are sold with them are also well designed, with particular reference to the needs of the photographer. They even have a small range of bags, the F1.4, for customers who don't want to carry quite so much on their day out.
