Description

The Ultravid 10x42 HD Plus Binoculars are a generation of binoculars with an improved optical performance, which has been developed over many years. These HD-Plus Binoculars are some of the smallest in their class and relatively lightweight due to the die-cast magnesium body, which is nitrogen filled, making them waterproof down to 5 meters. They are also fog-proof, which is invaluable in any type of bad weather and means that they can be taken out even when the light is poor and the weather terrible. They are very easy to use as the amount of 'break' in the barrels mean that the binoculars will fit most eye distances and the twist up eyecups ensure that users who wear glasses can keep their glasses on and still use the binoculars. The large focusing ring means that it only takes one and a quarter turns to focus on the subject and it is easy to locate due to the ergonomic design of the binoculars.

Robust Design

Designed to withstand the elements and all it can throw at them, these 10x42 HD Ultravids are made from the finest materials and manufactured to incredibly high standards. They have a particularly precise focusing with only 1.25 turnarounds from closest focus to the furthest distance, which is fantastic when trying to view wildlife, as the focusing can be quickly fixed onto the subject. Leica have also incorporated a + and - 4 dioptre correction facility, so that the binoculars can be fine tuned to a specific optician's prescription. This can be set up on first use of the binoculars and then locked into place, so that they always have exactly the right dioptre setting. Simply focus the binoculars on a subject and then lift and turn the smaller dial that is next to it either clockwise or anti-clockwise to re-focus onto the subject again. Once all is clear, simply push down the dioptre ring to lock it into place.

Outstanding Optics

The Leica 10x42 binoculars gives perfect contrast and clarity and the high transmission glass and coatings produce the brightness that we have come to expect from Leica. The prisms within these binoculars are made from specially formulated SCHOTT glass, which is some of the highest quality optics around, with exceptional light transmission particularly in the blue-violet band, which means that every detail and colour rendition is seen. The AquaDura coating on the Leica 10x42 binoculars, protects the lens optics and body against water and dirt and means that they can be cleaned under a running tap, if they get really filthy. Having sealed the unit, the 10x42 Ultravids can confidently be used in the worse conditions.

The HD-Plus range Ultravid binoculars are available with 7x, 8x and 10x magnification and stand out with the 'HD' engraving in red on the strap lugs of the binoculars. Supplied with cordura case, objective lenses covers, eyepiece covers and carrying strap.
