Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E

The Sigma 24mm F1.4 DG DN Art for Sony E is a fast full-frame wide-angle prime. Sigma designed it to meet the demands of astrophotography while keeping it compact for an F1.4 lens, and at 510g it balances well on an a7 IV, a7C II or a7R V.

Optical design

There are 17 elements in 14 groups, including two FLD, one SLD and four aspherical elements. Sigma tuned the design for sharp, point-like stars across the frame at F1.4.

Made for night shooting

A lens heater retainer holds a dew strap in place, and there is a rear filter holder for sheet filters alongside the 72mm front thread.

Controls

There is an aperture ring with a click switch and a lock, an assignable AFL button and a manual focus lock switch. The petal hood locks onto the lens.

Built for the outdoors

The body is dust- and splash-resistant, and the front element has a water- and oil-repellent coating.

This is for astro, landscape, event and wedding photographers who want a fast wide prime that is still a sensible size. The Sigma 24mm F2 DG DN is the lighter everyday option, and the Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG DN gives a wider view at the same aperture.
