  • Full-frame 20mm ultra-wide with F1.4 aperture
  • 82mm front filter thread plus rear filter holder
  • Two SLD and three aspherical elements
  • Lens heater retainer for night shooting
  • Aperture ring with lock and click switch, AFL button
  • Dust- and splash-resistant
  • Locking petal hood

The Sigma 20mm F1.4 DG DN Art for Sony E is a fast full-frame ultra-wide prime. It pairs a bright F1.4 aperture with a standard 82mm filter thread, and on an a7 IV, a7C II or a7R V it covers starry skies, landscapes, interiors and events.

Night-sky ready

Sigma designed it with astrophotography in mind. A lens heater retainer holds a dew strap in place, and as well as the front thread there is a rear filter holder for sheet filters.

Optical design

There are 17 elements in 15 groups, including two SLD and three aspherical elements. One of them is a large double-sided aspherical element, which Sigma describes as the largest of its kind it has made.

Controls

An aperture ring with a lock and a click on/off switch, an assignable AFL button and a manual focus lock switch are on the barrel. The petal hood locks in place.

Built for the outdoors

The body is dust- and splash-resistant, and the front element has a water- and oil-repellent coating that makes rain spots and fingerprints easier to wipe off.

Who it's for

This is for landscape and astro photographers who want F1.4 with ordinary screw-in filters. For the widest possible view, the Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG DN goes further, and the Sigma 20mm F2 DG DN is a much smaller and lighter 20mm for travel.
