Impressive Optical Performance The Sony 50mm macro lens consists of seven groups and eight elements, including one aspherical lens and one ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements. The aspherical element supresses field curvature to maintain superb mages quality across the frame. The ED glass element minimises chromatic aberration to ensure images are sharp and clear – even when shooting up close.

Shooting Capabilities Get closer to the subject thanks to the minimum focusing distance of 16cm. Enjoy the creative freedom of shooting, from capturing stunning scenery to life size portraits. The maximum F2.8 seven-blade circular aperture allows the creation of beautifully natural bokeh.

Intuitive Controls A focus-mode switch is conveniently located on the lens for fingertip control during shooting. Use the focal mode switch to change between manual and auto focus seamlessly, enabling smooth focusing. A focus-range limiter is included for the user to set the lens’s focus range for fast AF operation. As well as a focus-hold button to freeze focus for a more stable shooting experience.

Magnification and Distance Scales  Magnification and distance scales are featured on the lens with precise numeric indications, which is convenient for achieving the correct magnification and focus when shooting – beneficial for macro photography.
