The Vistron 8x32 Binoculars are slightly smaller than the 8x42's so probably easier to carry for long periods of time, but the compromise is the slightly smaller objective lens. This really isn't an issue with the 8x magnification, as not too much light is lost with the smaller lens and the reduced weight gain can prove very useful if the binoculars are going to be used a lot. They are waterproof, which is ideal for poor weather conditions and nitrogen filled to prevent fogging inside the optics. It also means that they can be gently rinsed under the tap if they get particularly dirty.

The Viking optics are crisp and sharp, with excellent colour rendition and the applied silver coating greatly helps with their light gathering ability ensuring every detail of the subject is captured. They are very comfortable to hold and have an easy to use central focus wheel, that need very little adjustment to get the subject in focus and can be used, even when weariing gloves. The adjustable eyecups on the Vistron binoculars are great for eye-relief adjustment when the binoculars are being used with or without glasses. Simply twist them up when no glasses are worn or twist them down, if the conditions are bright and sunglasses are required of for users who need to keep spectacles on when viewing.  There is also an eyesight correction option on the right hand barrel, which can be adjusted for specific dipotres. All that is required is for the binoculars to be focused using the standard focusing wheel and then shut the left eye and turn the right-hand wheel left or right until the image is absolutel pin sharp, then just leave the wheel in place and the binoculars are set.

The close focusing of the 8x binos is useful, as often insects or small objects appear close by and the binoculars can still be used to check out the finer details of the desired subject. Fab to use and really good value, these are one of our favourite models.
