The A7R III packs pro-style operability into a strong, compact body to give you flexibility to take brilliant shots in any situation. This interchangeable lens camera offers superior speed, high-resolution imaging and reliable performance in one.

The 42.4MP full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor features a back-illuminated gapless on-chip lens design increases light sensitivity and provides wide dynamic range. A new front-end LSI and BIONZ X  boost processing speed and are teamed with the Exmor R sensor to deliver up to 15-stop dynamic range at low ISO sensitivity. The standard ISO range has been extended to ISO 100-32000 (expandable to ISO 50-102400), and noise has been reduced by as much as a full stop in the mid sensitivity range.

The high-resolution Quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder provides natural, high-resolution viewfinder image. The functional advantages of an EVF such as high visibility in darkness are improved for powerful shooting support.

Up to 10fps continuous shooting

Capture quick action with continuous shooting of up to 10fps with AF/AE tracking. Large data of 42.4MP imaging maintains high image quality that is beneficial for your creative trimming.

This camera allows silent shooting at up to 10fps with AF/AE tracking. Silence is critical for shooting wildlife, when even slight noise can mean missing a chance at an ideal shot.

What is 4D FOCUS?

4D FOCUS goes one step further than conventional autofocus. Features an innovative image sensor that picks up both space and time to capture moving subjects with new simplicity which allows you to take clearer and new clarity photographs than ever before!

WIDE- Area (2D)

Capture the action across a wide area, even off the centre of the frame. 4D Focus activates AF points across a wide area so the camera can detect subjects throughout the entire frame.

FAST - Depth (3D)

Focus quickly whether your subjects moving closer or further away. 4D FOCUS instantly detects the distance to your subject and focuses quickly and accurately with advanced AF.

STEADFAST - Time (4D)

The fourth dimension of 4D FOCUS is time, accurately predicting and stably tracking your subject's next move. The AF algorithm stays focused on the action, and even predicts your subject’s next move, without getting distracted by any obstacles in the frame.

Dual media slots, UHS-II support

With two media slots (including one that's UHS-II-compatible for fast data writing, the A7R III can relay record separate JPEG/RAW data and stills/moving.

Enhanced image stabilisation

Thanks to enhanced 5-axis in-camera image stabiliser, whenever you want to move and shoot freely, you can rely on the A7R III’s high-resolution performance and mobility, in order to focus on the subject without worrying about various types of camera-shake blur.

High-resolution 4K HDR

In addition to capability to record stunning high-resolution 4K movies through 5K (15MP) oversampling, the camera features a new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) picture profile, supporting instant HDR workflow, that offers wide dynamic range for highly precise and lifelike movie images without colour grading.
