The Night Owl NOXM50 Nightvision Monocular is a classic design and offers a high 5x magnification which makes it extremely useful for distant objects. Designed for viewing at night-time, the monocular makes use of the available light from the moon and stars and then converts it into electrons, which then strike a phosphorous screen to create an image that is easy to see by the naked eye. Weighing in at a measly 455 grams makes this an ideal compact solution for night viewing of wildlife. It measures just 197mm in length, it's powered by a single lithium battery (not included) and has a 2 year warranty.

How Does it Work

The ambient light, such as the moon and stars is gathered by the lens of the Night Vision Monocular and then focused onto the image intensifier tube. The intensifier tube converts the gathered light into single electrons, which are then multiplied by a high voltage tube (17 kilovolt). These multiplied electrons strike a phosphorous screen in high numbers, which then activates the screens illumination and that's all there is to it, the amplified light signals can now be seen by the human eye.
