The Night Owl iGen NV 20/20 Night Vision Monocular has 2.6x magnification which is perfect for a night vision monocular and the high quality optics and image processing technology, ensures the highest possible image quality without distortion. The monocular is really robust and compact and thanks to the number of lens elements used in the design of this Danubia Night Owl twenty-twenty night vision unit, along with premium lens coating, the unit is capable of crisp, bright images, with minimal internal reflection. The rubber housing means it is comfortable and secure to hold, and thanks to the high infra red sensitivity, this monocular is ideal for viewing wildlife in the dark. The Danubia Night Owl night vision binocular offers variable illumination from 2-30 to increase the light-gathering capacity of the unit and the brightness of the display can be selected. This Dorr iGen NV 20/20 night sight also has an in-built synch video output connection so that you can connect to a PC and watch the images in the comfort of your own home. This unit comes with a manufacturers 2 year warranty.
How Does it Work
The ambient light, such as the moon and stars is gathered by the lens of the Night Vision Monocular and then focused onto the image intensifier tube. The intensifier tube converts the gathered light into single electrons, which are then multiplied by a high voltage tube (17 kilovolt). These multiplied electrons strike a phosphorous screen in high numbers, which then activates the screens illumination and that's all there is to it, the amplified light signals can now be seen by the human eye.
Total Darkness
The only way to see and object in complete darkness is by way of the infra red illuminator. It works like a flash light throwing out a beam that is invisible to the human and animal eye, but means that images can be seen in spite of the darkness.
Half Moon
A half moon can give quite a significant amount of ambient light, which is then amplified by the internal Electronic Intensifier Tubes. It makes the infra red beam less critical and the binoculars can help see a person-sized object at about 300 yards away.
Just Starlight
If you are relying on the stars for ambient light, then you can still see a person sized object from 200 yards away, but if you then use the infra red beam the target will be much easier to recognise.
Urban Areas (Man-Made Light Source)
The intensifier tube will not generally be damaged by street lights and headlights providing they are a safe enough distance away, but it is recommended that the unit isn't pointed directly at artificial lights. A fair rule of thumb is that any man-made light source that is more than 30 yards away, won't damage the tubes.
These Night Owl Night Vision Binocular's come with a nylon carrying case and 2 Year Warranty.
