The Ultravid 10x50 HD Plus Binoculars are a generation of binoculars with an outstanding optical performance and a durability that makes them easy to use, without worrying about damage or deterioration. These Leica 10x50 Binoculars are amongst some of the largest of the range, but relative to the objective size and magnification, they are fairly lightweight, due to the Die Cast Magnesium body which makes them strong and durable. A 50mm objective lens is a real luxury and only really suitable for very keen nature viewers, or travellers who don't mind carrying around the extra weight and size. The size of the objective lens makes a huge difference to the quality of the image and the amount of detail that can be picked up, because it's very size partly determines the amount of light that hits the back of the eye and we all know that in optical performance, light is really important.

HD Lenses

The beautifully manufactured HD-Lens system allows for perfect contrast and clarity and the high transmission glass and multi-coatings produce the highest brightness and efficient stray-light suppression. This pair of full-size HD Plus binoculars, delivers enhanced contrast and true colour fidelity with virtually zero distortion, even in low light conditons, through the specially formulated SCHOTT glass prisms. SCHOTT glass has been developed over 130 years to ensure that it is the most pure and clear glass available. Each prism is ground and polished to remove any impuritites, so any image viewed through the Ultravid 10x50 binoculars, has stunning detail and colour rendition, which means that any identifying marks can be easily spotted even in terrible lighting conditions.

Waterproof

The Leica HD binoculars are completely sealed, making them watertight down to 5 metres and as they are nitrogen filled they do not fog in wet weather and the AquaDura coating protects the optics that are open to the elements from dust and dirt as well as rain water, so much so, that the Ultravid binoculars can be washed under a tap after a tough day viewing.

Top Notch Performance

Not suitable for everyone, these 10x50 binoculars are designed for viewing at dusk and dawn and in very poor light. If weight and size is an issue on these binoculars, it is easy to use them with a tripod or monopod, using one of Leica's binocular clamps. The HD-Plus range Ultravid binoculars are available with 7x, 8x and 10x magnification and stand out with the new 'HD' engraving in red on the strap lugs of the binoculars.
