These 8x20 Ultravid Binoculars are the updated pair available from Leica. This new version features a slightly re-designed housing and includes a high quality calf-leather soft pouch for protecting your binoculars. These Ultravids are also now manufactured in Germany.

Bright Binoculars

The 8x20 Ultravid Black Binoculars are brighter, sharper, more compact, more functional and even more robust than previous binoculars of its lens size. Designed for everyday use, they are small enough to slip into a shirt pocket or small carry bag and are really comfortable to use as they fit snugly into the hand.

Extremely compact and lightweight with only a 20mm objective lens, you would be forgiven for thinking that they would not gather enough light to see anything, but you would be wrong. The optics in the 8x20 binoculars are highly manufactured to be flawless and able to gather all the light available for focusing on the eye. The aspherical lenses mean that the binoculars offer a sharp edge to edge images without any colour fringing, which detracts from the colour rendition and detail in the subject being viewed.

Compact and Lightweight

Pocket sized binoculars, these Leica 8x20 binoculars can be carried anywhere and are suitable for using when out walking, or at an indoor arena where you happen to be at the back of the stadium. The binoculars are really versatile as they will focus down to 1.8 metres, so if you like to look at flowers or insects, it saves getting down to floor level. 

Waterproof

The binoculars are very robust as Leica have developed a vulcanisation method which ensures that the rubber armoured finish is inseparable from the metal housing even in the harshest conditions. The rubber armour finish also offers a warm and secure feel to the binoculars, even when wearing gloves. They are guaranteed to be waterproof down to 5m (16.5ft) and are nitrogen filled to prevent fogging.
