The amount of light getting into the barrels of binoculars and how it is harnessed, is always an issue because it bounces around and causes fringing, which detracts from the image. The Hawke Endurance ED range, deals with this issue, by using special glass which has been optimally manufactured to help with the problem. This means that the Hawke 8x32's give phenomenal images, with excellent colour rendition and crisp edge to edge clarity. The 8x magnification is great for all round use and the large 32mm objective lens (the one at the opposite end to the eyecups) gets lots of light into the glass inside. Hawke have also incorporated multi-coated the lenses, which will also help with light input and add to the durability of the glass.
The high resolution phase corrected BAK-4 roof prisms give edge to edge quality, as they keep the image round, instead of a diamond shape and the twist up eyecups are really versatile, giving excellent eye relief. They are easy to use, just leave them down when using the binoculars whilst wearing glasses and then twist them up for using them without. The right eyepiece also has a dioptre correction device fitted, so the binoculars can be fine-tuned for extra sharpness.
Simply focus the binoculars using the main focus ring and then shut the left eye and turn the dioptre correction ring left or right, to change the internal +/- dioptre. The magnesium alloy body with a leatherette finish features a waterproof twin hinge pocket sized binocular design. Stay-on lens covers provide maximum lens protection and the twist-up eyes cups with position stop for eye relief.
The smooth focus knob is ergonomically placed for maximum convenience and can even be used when wearing gloves, so great for those cold winter days, or summer ones for that matter. The binoculars are made from magnesium alloy and covered with a leatherette finish for an even better grip. They have ribbed sides for added security when handling and will fold down to an amazing 99mm, which is great for everyday use out in the field, because although these binoculars are slightly larger and heavier than the compact range, they are still perfect for carrying on a day out. The stay on covers are a great help and will not get lost when they are not being used.
The Hawke 8x32 Endurance Ed Binoculars come with a neck strap, carrying case, rainguard and objective lens covers.
