Description
The Canon EF 100mm f2.8 L Macro lens is beautifully crafted and manufactured to an exceptionally high standard. It is suitable for portrait as well and macro photography and the lens features Canons high performance macro life size image reproduction. It has an eight blade circular aperture for a beautiful creative blur effect which will help make subjects stand out.
The EF 100mm F/2.8 Macro L USM also boasts a medium telephoto feature providing a 1.0x magnification, with a focusing limiter switch which means the range is reduced to improve auto focusing times. All the L series lenses in Canons range are redefining quality, manufactured and designed to the highest possible standard combining superior performance with superlative handling. The new image stabilizer design is specifically designed for inclusion in a macro lens, Canon are really setting new standards for performance.
It's able to correct lens shift movements as well as the angular movement which most IS systems can correct, this provides 2- stops of correction during 1.0x magnification, increasing to 3-stops at 0.5x magnification and 4-stops during normal shooting. The USM on this lens drives extremely rapid auto focus in near silence, the lens offers a minimum focussing distance of 0.3 meters.
