This was the first full frame digital camera out of the Leica factory and was designed to take most of the M range of lenses. The 18 megapixel CCD sensor was fitted with specially designed filter that dispensed with UV and IR filters and with a maximum resolution of 5212x3472, captured huge amounts of detail for reproduction. The 2.5 inch TFT, Colour LCD screen gave great previews and composition options, which were perfect for the rangefinder style of photography, where you are not quite seeing what the lens is looking at.
