WEEE Recycling Scheme
What you need to know
On 1 July 2007, new government regulations called the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations came into force to hopefully encourage people to arrange recycling of old electrical products, rather than throwing them away. As a retailer of electrical goods we are required by law to provide a recycling scheme for your old electrical goods. Althought we alway accepted old equiment in store before we was told we had to.
Electrical goods can be recycled if they carry a crossed-out wheelie bin sign and all new electrical products now carry this sign. Items with the crossed-out bin, must not be put in household rubbish.
What we do
Store - If you buy an item in our store you can gives us your old equivalent item back and we will recycle it for you free of charge.
Online - If you purchase an item online and would like to have your old equivalent item recycled please contact us. We will recycle your old item free of charge. However, if you requie us to collect the item there will be a charge of £7.50 to cover courier costs.
The equiment we get back from customers is repaired, recycled or broken down to make parts for other cameras. Recycling cameras and camcorders etc helps to save natural resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending old electrical goods to landfills.
