 The Nikon 400mm f2.8F AF-S VR IF-ED Nikkor Black is a superb telephoto lens with an ultra-fast aperture, ideal for sports photography. The Nikon 400mm's new optical design delivers crisp, high-contrast images, and features ultra-quiet Autofocus performance, second generation Vibration Reduction to combat the effect of camera shake at slow shutter speeds, and practical close focusing capabilities. Designed for digital, the Nikon 400mm f2.8F AF-S VR IF-ED Nikkor Black Lens includes a Nano Crystal coating to reduce ghosting and flare, ED glass elements for high contrast and resolution as well as rounded diaphragm blades to produce images full of detail with excellent out-of-focus characteristics. The Nikon 400mm f2.8F also features excellent resistance to dust and water, a meniscus protective glass element, an A/M mode to prevent accidental switching when using autofocus mode and has a closest focusing distance of just 2.9m.
