This new Digital Camera is the all-in one ultra zoom camera for creating creative stills and video. It is a versatile all-round compact camera with 24x optical zoom lens, and is designed for photographers shooting a variety of images in different situations. Also in travel photgraphy where flexibility is most needed, the Leica V-Lux 3 also features a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 4.5 - 108mm f/2.8 - 5.2 ASPH. super-telephoto zoom lens with an enormous range of focal lengths equivalent to 25-600mm in 35mm format, thus making it ideal for almost all photographic situations.
A fantastic newly developed 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor gives great image quality, performing particularly well in poor lighting and at high speeds. The high contrast, low noise and rich & natural colours delivered by this sensor sets new standards in a camera of this class for both still images and video. The Leica V-Lux 3's high-speed continuous shooting function makes it one of the fastest burst-shooting cameras in its category.
As well as the still image functionality, the Leica V-Lux 3 offers an large range of video options and exceptional quality compared with premium-range camcorders, capturing full HD video in AVCHD format with 1920 x 1080 pixels and 60 full frames per second, known as 1080p60. This particular video format not only guarantees the perfect rendition of fast movement with excellent detail, but it is also ideal for conversion to alternative resolutions and refresh rates. Also the entire 24x zoom range is available during video recording, and an integrated stero microphone has an electronic filter to banish wind noise, to give a clear sound.
The Leica V-Lux 3 features a 3" LCD display with 460,000 pixel resolution, producing a bright and clear view, this also makes sure of precise, to the point, reliable composition, framing and review of images. For complete flexibility, the LCD screen can easily be twisted and turned in almost every direction, opening up new horizons for the fortunate users of the V-Lux 3. If necessary the camera should be held above the head or below the knees, this can be made possible, for the photographer to be in full control with this camera!
Known for its ergonomic, compact design and simple handling traits, the V-Lux 3's integrated handgrip and light weight allows the photographer to shoot excellent images in most situations, inlcuding one-handed shooting. The camera controls are clearly shown, giving fast and easy operation. Video recording can be started and stopped at the touch of a button at the top of the camera.
