Leica is a company we have had the privelage of dealing with for over 40 years. Based in Solms, Leica was established in 1849 and the genius Oskar Barnack, developed the progression from 35mm negatives to larger print formats, to help launch photography as we know it today. The prototypes he made at the Leitz factory in Wetzlar, were born out of a desire to carry cameras around the countryside, with a view to taking pictures, wherever he happened to be. The rest, as we say, is now history.
We have gone from strength to strength in a partnership that has seen the launch of digtal photography and HD Sport Optics, in an ever evolving market place which has gone from 'in-store' experiences to 'on-line' value. The latest addition to the Leica range is the Leica S Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera, with it's wide range of lenses and medium format system, to give even better photographs by capturing every detail at the press of a button. Versitile and bursting with technology the S system falls firmly in the professional photography camp, being an incredible small camera with medium format capabilities, with excellent handling and ergonomic design
The Sport Optic range of products that Leica produce, have been thoughtfully designed and superbly manufactured, to give outstanding performance in even the most demanding of conditions. Whether dusk or dawn, rain or snow, the Leica Ultravid binoculars and Leica Televid spotting scopes have been shown to perform exceptionally well, whether on the moors, bird watching or sailing round the Solent. To advertise the Leica family, we have arranged Leica M Camera days at Chatsworth House and Camera Fairs in local hotels around Sheffield, which have proved very succesful. The launch of the Leica D-lux camera was a very exciting event and we were not surprised that we sold thousands of the D-Lux 3 and 4 and continue to sell the Leica D-Lux 6 Digital Compact Camera in large numbers to discerning customers. The latest edition to the D-Lux range is the G-Star Raw limited edition model which continues the family of D-Lux cameras well into the future.
Leica's UK Passport Scheme has always been popular, offering peace of mind after the purchase of a treasured camera or optical equipment. Falling within the first year or purchase, it covers the accidental damage of any qualifying item bought in the UK and ensures that Leica's service department, check over the product and its suitability to carry on functioning, completely free of charge. If the product is beyond repair, they will replace it enabling you to continue down the Leica road; a truely outstanding service and one which we at Harrison Cameras whole heartily agree with.
Leica also specialize in made to measure cameras. If you would like a bespoke finish on a Leica M, then just choose their 'A La Carte' option and create your very own personalised rangefinder camera, which reflects your individuality. Choose from a range of finishes and let Leica do the rest.
