The Canon PowerShot SX240 has a very similar spec to the Canon SX260 but does not have the Global Postitioning System function, the camera is ideal for all types of major family events or holidays, the Powershot SX240 is small and lightweight allowing the camera to fit into a handbag or coat pocket with ease. The 25mm wide angle lens allows you to take superb panoramic shots and the 20x optical zoom really means you get close to your subject, the Canon Image Stabilisation system reduces camera shake when taking still shots or using the inbuilt 1080p HD video recorder. The Powershot SX240 features a crisp 3" LCD screen, high speed shooting, full manual controls and smart auto.

A fantastically compact camera, in spite of its huge zoom, this camera is great to slip in a pocket or bag, so the photographic opportunity is never missed. The comprehensive manual over-ride means greater versitility in all lighting conditions, ensuring shutter speeds and apertures can be set manually. The Intelligent IS combats camera shake even at full zoom, making sure that photos and videos are pin sharp.

The Canon PowerShot SX260 HS has 58 scenes in Smart Auto Mode which detects the scene and selects the optimum settings for perfect photographs, which gives added security for photographers who don't want to worry about the lighting conditions. 21 scenes can be selcted in Video Mode and face detection is programmable for registered age subjects, such as a sleeping babay, where the camera automatically switches off the flash and beeping sounds.
